Key responsibilities:

As a Support Worker at Cucumber Recruitment, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in residential care homes, supported living environments, and other healthcare settings. You will help to improve the lives of vulnerable individuals by offering assistance with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being.

  • Provide person-centered care to individuals, supporting their physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, including washing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support individuals with daily activities, such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and shopping.
  • Help clients with mobility, and provide assistance with moving and handling when necessary.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with individuals, encouraging independence and promoting self-esteem.
  • Document and report on the progress of clients, ensuring care plans are followed and updated as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual care plans and participate in team meetings.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver the best outcomes for clients.
  • Ensure that all safeguarding and health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.

Key Skills

  • Minimum 6 months experience of working as a Support Worker or in a care-related role.
  • A genuine passion for supporting others, with empathy and a caring nature.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including the possibility of night shifts and weekends.
  • Enhanced DBS check required (we can assist in arranging this).
  • A positive attitude with a commitment to promoting dignity and respect for individuals.
